Csaba Zvekan verfolgte einst mit Craig Gruber (Ex-ELF, ex-RAINBOW, ex-RAVEN LORD) eine Zusammenarbeit am zweiten RAVEN LORD-Album; ebenso arbeitet er mit Craig Gruber unter dem Banner einer neuen Band namens TOWER OF BABEL, so dass vielen Csaba Zvekan sicher ein Begriff ist. Nun legt Csaba erst einmal mit EXORCISM los - hier vergleicht sich die Band mit Größen wie BLACK SABBATH und DIO - jedoch im modernen Gewand verpackt.
Gegründet wurden EXORCISM bereits in 2006, wobei erst in 2014 über ´Golden Core Records´ das Debüt ´I Am God´ veröffentlicht wurde, welches weitestgehend gute Kritiken einheimsen konnte. Beim Mixen und Mastern hat Csaba nun selber Hand angelegt, alle Texte und Melodien erscheinen ebenso aus seiner Feder zu stammen. Die EP beinhaltet sechs Songs, die sich dem klassischen Metal verschrieben haben. Mal geht es schneller zur Sache, mal etwas gediegener. Es wird über eine Welt in Sünde, über einen düsteren Tag im Paradies, über die virtuelle Freiheit, über die Sahara und den Schwarzen Stern gesungen.
Im Juni soll also dieses neueste Machwerk aus dem Hause Zvekan erscheinen. Cover und Bandname lassen zu allererst auf eine dunklere Gangart schließen, doch den Hörer kann man beruhigen, dass hier kein Geschepper zu erwarten ist. Bei ´Sahara´ hört man, dass man sich am Stil eines DIO versucht, reicht jedoch nur minimal an das Original heran - die Ansätze sind jedoch klar vorhanden. Grade der Song ´World In Sin´ erinnert mich hier und da etwas an Jorn Lande. Wenn ich einen Vergleich ziehen darf, erinnern mich dann die zwei Songs ´Hole In My Heart´ und ´Dark Rainbow´ genau an die zwei Lieder, die Craig Goldy als persönliches Tribute bereits Anfang dieses Jahr zu Dio`s Ehren, mit Mark Huff am Gesang, herausgebracht hat. Der letzte Song namens ´Black Star´ gemahnt gesanglich ebenfalls leicht an einen Herrn Ronnie James Dio.
Fazit: Klassischer Metal, mit einer raueren Stimme. Geeignet für alle, die keine neumodischen Akzente mögen und auf gradlinigen Wegen wandeln, ein klasse Album. Sich selbst aber mit DIO zu messen, ist nicht die klügste Idee, zumal es einen DIO nur einmal gab, gibt und geben wird. Die vorliegende EP wird bei ´Dream Records´ in einer Auflage von 666 Kopien erscheinen. Die Songs wurden eigens für die EP produziert und sollen nicht auf dem Album landen. Wer eine der 666 EPs ergattern möchte, sollte nicht zögern und gleich vorbestellen.

Falsches Herz: CD Review: Aenemica - Empty Inside - HELLYEAH
Darf ich vorstellen. Heute "to da player" Aenemica, die progressive Metal Truppe aus Iserlohn (Germany). Gegründet in 2012 verschrieben Sie sich dem Prog Genre. In 2014 veröffentlichte die Band dann ihr erstes Werk - welches aus krankheitsbedingten Gründen (die Drummer John trafen) nur auf EP Länge basiert. Die Band umschreibt ihren Namen mit "Falsches Herz" oder abber auch "Herz aus Stein".
Ein nettes Päckchen erreichte mich noch kurz vor dem Abschluss dieses Jahres, professionell mit CD, Press Kit und Visitenkarte - aufgepasst SO geht das liebe Bands. Dem Hörer werden hier softe, tighte Progressive Metal Songs geboten. Man möchte einfach immer weiterhören und die CD sollte einfach nie enden.
Positiv fällt des Weiteren auf, dass die Songs nicht zu lang sind und somit zu keiner Zeit auch nur ein Hauch von Langeweile aufkommt, wie es bei diversen Bands mit langatmigen Songs so der Fall ist.
Für den Song "Empty Inside" holte man sich Gastmusikerin Silke Schmiermann,- dieser Track ist wohl nur auf/über Bandcamp verfügbar. Das atemberaubende Cover hat by the way kein geringerer als Björn Goßes entworfen - Hut ab. Das Gesamtpaket stimmt hier zu 100 %. Mein Fazit: Up to the charts with this album.

New Jersey rocks: VOODOO TERROR TRIBE - A WALK IN HELL - EP Review
May I present you another awesome piece of music. This is Voodoo Terror Tribe from New Jersey, USA. Wow this powerful music already made my speakers go "boom". THIS IS IT! Metal straight into the face.
Four piece metal band from New Jersey kicking it! This is approximatley 25 minutes of pure metal. Fresh and fast tunes with modern sound elements as they are also using synths in their songs and their singer Gil metal`s it up with his rocking voice.
This EP is pimped with a cover of Billy Idol`s "Rebel Yell". This song is another driving force on the EP... the best Rebel Yell cover I have ever heard! Thums up! You will love this version. You have to make sure to play it on 10!
All in all an outstanding EP. This band needs to get heard and needs to be on the road as much as possible. If I should campare it with similar bands... then I would compare it with the german band "Cyberia" (not active anymore) they had a similar sound but they haven`t had a human drummer they had some kind of Angelo Sasso (drumcomputer).
The last song "Bloodsoaked" is a mosh-pit song... brutal and aggressive elements but also compared with some quiet runnings! Is it one and the same singer? YES it is!

Hollywood beauty Margarita Monet and their band rocking it for a 2nd time. After their debut album named MASK they are back with their new EP which is was released in October 2013 and I am very happy to report about this EP.
The second masterpiece of the band provides you with four rocking tunes and a bonus track. This time Edge Of Paradise worked with Bob Kulick and Brett Chassen and Mr. Michael Wagener at Wire World Studios mixed and mastered the new recordings. So it is an outstanding and clearly produced CD.
Not much into female fronted rock and metal bands but Margaritas voice has the special spark in the dark and you cannot get enough listening to her. She is singing like she's doing it for about 30-40 years. From all the new bands that I have heard meanwhile this is the very best out of all!
And I have to add that this woman is beautiful and really can sing! Who else can? Only a handful. Compared with Dave's super riffs and this and all the other awesome musicians "Edge of Paradise" have got what it takes to make it big time - and yes they live their dream!
This EP is the real deal. My favourite is IN A DREAM. If you haven't checked this band you should better rush and get their EP today at EOP Official as they are limited to 200 copies. If you have got luck you will get one!

Defox Records announce their digital deal with the band NUCLEAR STRIKES
DEFOX RECORDS and HEART OF STEEL RECORDS are proud to annunce the digital deal with NUCLEAR STRIKES, a female fronted heavy metal from Malaysia, they launched their first official album an Ep entitled "Megastorm Eyes" (MadRatts Production) with a excellet mix from 80´s Classic Heavy Metal and Melodic Hard Rock.
This band was known as JACK HAMMER in its early existence.
The band formed by Rex Killer e 1, 2 Kill (ex ANTACID) in 2005, plays heavy 80’s metal songs and tunes.
In certain songs, the band inserted some rock, hard rock and any other melodies and tunes to produce better.
They are influenced by cult traditional heavy metal bands both from Malaysia and other countries, for instance,RIOT, ACCEPT, DIO, JUDAS PRIEST, LEE AARON, 220 VOLT, EUROPE, DEMON, FIFTH ANGEL and many more.
Throughout the years, they had performed at some places in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, such as Paul’s Place, MCPA Hall, KL Tower, One Café, Orange Club and more.
They also had performed in Malacca, Penang and the most recent show took place in Johor Bahru as the opening band for the Reunion Concert of the legend 80’s band, Bloodshed.
They are planning to widen their knowledge and experience by performing and travelling the world.
The EP will be available in every worldwide digital stores early November 2012.

A SOUND OF THUNDER Announces New Album and EP
Washington, DC-based heavy metallers A SOUND OF THUNDER have begun work on their third full-length album entitled Time's Arrow. The band has entered Assembly Line Studios with producer Kevin "131" Gutierrez (Shinedown, While Heaven Wept, Raven). With the same band line-up, producer and studio that created 2012's acclaimed Out of the Darkness (Nightmare Records), Time's Arrow features 11 new songs combining rousing and catchy traditional metal with crushing modern production. Time's Arrow will release in early 2013.
The centerpiece of the album is the 9-minute sci-fi themed title track. Guitarist and composer Josh Schwartz describes the track as "a high octane headbanger with an unforgettable riff and an engaging story. Stylistically it's Iron Maiden meets Rush with a bit of Meatloaf thrown in for bombast." The tale begun in the lyrics is expanded in a short story by drummer Chris Haren, available in the limited box set edition of Time's Arrow.
On August 20, 2012 A Sound of Thunder started a Kickstarter.com fundraiser campaign for the recording of Time's Arrow. The campaign will run for 30 days and offers fans a chance to pre-order the album, have their name printed in the album booklet, reserve an ultra-limited box set edition of the album, and acquire unique and rare items from the band. Video at the band's Kickstarter page contains the first clips from the new album. The Kickstarter campaign can be found here.
The band has also announced a second new release, the Queen of Hell EP, due out in November. Also recorded at Assembly Line Studios with producer Kevin "131" Gutierrez, the Queen of Hell EP contains four new tracks and is only available via the band's Kickstarter campaign.
The cover art for Queen of Hell can be seen below. "We've always wanted to do an homage to classic swords & sorcery themed metal album covers," says lead vocalist Nina Osegueda. "As you can see, we've gone horns up with the Queen of Hell art...I finally have the throne of skulls I've always wanted!" The cover art was provided by Serbian artist Dušan Marković.
