Mario Le Mole was born on January 23, 1967 near Berlin. He turned out to be musically gifted very early. At the age of 8 he started playing the guitar and singing in a choir. Some time later, he formed the school band “DYNASTY“. As the singer of “MERLIN“, one of the most popular heavy metal bands in East Germany, he soon gained wider recognition. After the Berlin Wall came down, Mario founded together with Dan Uhden, Rocco Stellmacher and Volker Schultz “MIND ODYSSEY“. In 1995, Belarusian guitarist Victor Smolski joined the band. With MIND ODYSSEY, Mario Le Mole released five studio albums on a demanding level worldwide. On June 3, 2022, Mario Le Mole released his first solo album "RESTLESS MAN". The second solo album by Mario Le Mole will be released on September 6, 2024 and is called “EVOLUTION”.

The superb new offering from Mike LePond's Silent Assassins is a unique
and dynamic blend of melodic traditional, power and speed metal that is

The third album from the band led by the astoundingly talented Symphony
X bassist LePond and featuring seriously heavyweight vocals from man of
all bands Alan Tecchio (Level Fields, Watchtower, ex-Hades, ex-Non
Fiction, ex-Seven Witches) shows a group that has grown into a lethal
unit. LePond plays all guitar sans leads, which are handled admirably by
Lance Barnewold and Rod Rivera. LePond's Symphony X bandmates Michal
Romeo and Michael Pinnella also take part. Romeo contributes drum
programming, orchestration and mandolin while Pinnella plays piano and
organ.
"Whore of Babylon" is a diverse album with many moods. It
includes intense, breakneck speedsters like album opener "Dracul Son,"
which bursts out of the gate with a fiery riff and a trademark Tecchio
scream, and the whiplash-inducing "Ironborn." Impressively, the band
does not trade melody for speed on these tracks. There are also majestic
power metal numbers like the Celtic-influenced "Night of the Long
Knives" and "Power of Steel" and the churning "Ides of March." Tecchio
gives way to Mindmaze singer Sarah Teets on the moving "Champion."
The album's standout tracks include " Telltale Heart," based upon the
Edgard Allan Poe short story on which Tecchio does an excellent job of
conveying the protagonist's growing paranoia and raises the bar on his
already otherworldly vocals in the chorus. Epic album closer "Avalon"
features LePond's inimitable bass work.
The band's namesake puts
his mesmerizing stamp throughout the album, leaving listeners in
disbelief of his immense talent. LePond is a master of the instrument,
playing 4 and 8-string bass. His punchy, elastic, fluid style is
especially evident in his solo on "Champion" and his intro to "Avalon."
Also check out his nimble fretwork on "Tell Tale Heart" and "Ides of
March." Furthermore, LePond wrote all the music, melodies and lyrics for the set.
Overall, "Whore of Babylon" is a fully realized album from start to
finish. Whether you prefer listening on headphones and dissecting every
part or blasting it on your stereo while cruising down the highway,
"Whore of Babylon" fits every bill.

VIRGIN STEELE change the title for their forthcoming new studio album in “Nocturnes of Hellfire & Damnation”.
David DeFeis says about the new album: "Our new album which is called "NOCTURNES OF HELLFIRE & DAMNATION", is not a concept album per se, but there is a through line that connects the tracks. The lyrics essentially deal with relationship issues and by that I mean....the connections between entities....as in all sorts of beings, not only human beings…but also Gods & Goddesses, Spirits, Elements, or whatever, plus various creatures, animal, vegetable and or mineral, but largely the album is about connections between people. People and their belief systems, people and their Gods or Goddesses…people and their life philosophies and also the various substances we invest or inject into our daily or nightly rituals and our worldview, and all the complexities of what drives us, makes us who we are and takes us where we may…or may not be going. To sum it up this album is about....all the various ways in which humans can entangle themselves, or destroy themselves…so the album's title essentially encompasses what the vibe of the whole Work is about. The title relates to the album in the way that the title “NOBLE SAVAGE”, or “AGE OF CONSENT”, expressed each of those particular Works. The title provides a framework and connective tissue, but each song is really its own thing.
Musically the album is pretty heavy, high energy, often dark, at turns melancholy, and at turns aggressive or angry sounding. It does have that over the top bombastic heaviness that we are about, and the whole Barbaric-Romantic thing that we are known for. The overarching theme that comes to mind when I think about the album or listen to it is passion…raw passion. There are big monolithic riffs, moody chord changes, “classical” type bits, sort of Bluesy moments....it retains the VIRGIN STEELE signature, but it adds new dimensions to it. In a strange way it "feels" to me like it could have been the album we might have made to follow up "NOBLE SAVAGE", had I been able to devote all my energies into the more bombastic or progressive side of my musical nature at that time, rather than trying to appease some of the other "factions" around me who wanted some kind of a "hit"...whatever that meant at the time. So to conclude...we have infused the recordings with all that we have gone through over these past months, every fiber of our being.....and I think this album will be something our Fans will really enjoy! "
SPV / Steamhammer will release the new studio album on June 17th in Scandinavia, June 19th in Germany, June 22nd in Europe and June 23rd in the USA.
It will come out with three different covers as a standard 1CD version (the gargoyle cover), 2CD digipak version (the angel cover), 2 LP gatefold version (the flute playing skeleton cover) and download.

Nach Contracrash s nun mehr 6 Jahre zurückliegendem Debut namens "Goddamn Planet" erscheint nun Ende Januar ihr neuestes Werk namens "Thy Kingdom come". Das Cover (siehe oben) ist sehr düster gehalten und zeigt ein episches, futuristisches Gebäude wovor eine zerbrochene Gestalt sitzt, gezeichnet von Schmerzen - so meine Interpretation.
Der Longplayer beinhaltet 12 Songs, die jeweils in 3 Akte unterteilt sind. Akt 1 nennt sich: Apocalypse Rising, Akt 2 heißt Born In Darkness und Akt 3 schimpft sich Carry The Fire. Und in Deutschland sind die Jungs schon kein unbeschriebenes Blatt mehr und erfreuen sich einem recht hohen Bekanntheitsgrad.
Was kommt also musikalisch Ende Januar auf euch zu? Ein in Eigenproduktion erschaffenes Werk mit einer Spielzeit um die 70 Minuten und u.a. einem Track, der die Schallgrenze von 20 Minuten übersteigt. Das Ganze hat Thorsten Sauerbrey (hat schon für Paddy Schmidt, Existence Failed, Bodybag u.v.m. gearbeitet) gemixt und gemastert.
Cleaner Gesang gepaart mit Shouts. Alles in Allem ist es eine sehr ordentliche Produktion, die gut reinhaut. Der Rhythmusgitarren-Sound vermittelt manchmal etwas Djent-Feeling. Für manche Hörer könnten die Lead-Gitarren vielleicht etwas präsenter sein. It`s all about that bass? No - haven`t heard much of him - das liegt dann aber wahrscheinlich an den tiefen Gitarren. Die cleanen Chor-Gesänge bringen einiges an Abwechslung zu dem zumeist sehr rhythmisch gehaltenen Strophen.

Thrash it up mit Contradiction. Nun sind schon ganze 5 Jahre ins Land gegangen aber was lange währt wird endlich gut und das neue Contradiction Album wurde nun endlich auf die Menschheit losgelassen.
Nun punktet die Band bereits mit ihrem 7. Album und ist schon längst nicht mehr als der deutschen sowie internationalen Thrash-Szene wegzudenken. Was ich an dieser Stelle noch anmerken möchte, dass mir crazy Basser "WESTI" nach wie vor sehr fehlt. Jedoch nur eine Anmerkung und keinesfalls eine Wertung auf Kosten des neuen Mann am Bass. Aber ebenfalls zu erwähnen bleibt natürlich auch, dass mir die witzige Namen-Kombi: Koffer, Kämper, Zelt immer so gut gefallen hat - aber dies nur am Rande.
Nun aber zum Album selbst. Das neue Contradiction Album beinhaltet 11 Songs und mit Song 12 kommt noch ein Bonus-Song namens "Rockin` Transilvania" mit daher. Man bediente sich zudem noch dem in 1976 das Licht der Welt erblickten Hit-Song "IN ZAIRE", von dem britischen Musiker John Wakelin. Eine super gelungene Coverversion in gewohnter Contradiction-Manier. Das Album ist sehr harmonisch gehalten... es hat melodische sowie aggressive Parts zu bieten. Ein Album was in keiner Thrash-Metal Sammlung fehlen sollte.

Following the positive reactions and a wide media echo on their self-titled debut in 2012, DEVIL’S TRAIN got their follow-up in the pipeline, now. Again and again have their supporters expressed their joy about a band still combining the heavy sound of the 80s with the classic hard rock attitude of the 70s. Even though, DEVIL’S TRAIN had been thought to be a short-term side project in the beginning, it got clear pretty quickly that everyone had simply too much fun working together to quit – the outcome is quite impressive indeed. Instead of keeping it easy and following the straight concept of traditional heavy rock with a biker attitude, which had been so well accepted in the past, DEVIL’S TRAIN have been refining and enriching their individual style for their classically titled follow up „II“ without compromising any of their principles.
By doing that, the international quartet never appears to be old-fashioned in any way, they rather add some irony to it. Hard and heavy, but still emotional and, above all, honest – DEVIL’S TRAIN are 100% authentic.
„All of us love this bluesy stuff, which the brilliant ‚Badlands‘, ‘Tesla’, ‘Cindarella’, or ‘Tangier’ used to play”, tells Liapakis. “You’ll find hints of it in many of our songs. Of course, they were also found on our debut, but not as prominent as on this one. It just felt right to put more emphasis on it in songs like ‚Can You Feel‘ or ‚Suffocated‘. The most radical song in this matter is surely ‚Mr. Jones‘, which is definitely one of my favorites on the record.”
With all this remarkable awareness of traditions, DEVIL’S TRAIN is still no pure retro-act; for instance, the band adds traces of stoner rock to their songs. “That’s one element we enjoy very much. I think that’s one of the details contributing to the fact that we are not only addressing established rock lovers, but also welcoming loads of younger fellows in our audience”, says the singer cheerfully.
As a similarity to their first record, not only do DEVIL’S TRAIN prove to be excellent songwriters and composers, but also to be brilliant interpreters of all time rock classics. This time, the musicians adapt with a lot of love for the originals Led Zeppelin’s monumental „Immigrant Song“ and the biker-hymn per se, Steppenwolfs „Born To Be Wild“, to make them their own.
In respect of the band’s members’ references, there had never been a doubt about the technical performance or quality of DEVIL’S TRAIN. But „II“ has quite a few positive and enjoyable surprises in store, considering the authenticity and effectivity of presenting their different, more emotional, and down-to-earth sound.

There is very little that can be said about this band that hasn’t been said before. They are undisputed legends of their sound and style which has been well documented since their early incarnation back in the very early 70s right through to the modern day. It says a lot that fans can still be truly thrilled and excited by the prospects of another new studio album and still remain loyal to a band which has experienced unsurprisingly both highs and lows.
The lows in recent times include the current ongoing trials of drummer Phil Rudd, and the heartbreaking developments regarding master Kingpin Malcolm Young and his retirement due to a form of dementia. Despite these shackles of misfortune the ballbreakin’ Rockers continue to ride on and have unearthed their 17th studio album (including the Australian albums ‘High Voltage’ and ‘T.N.T.’), or if you’re a devoted fan of Brian Johnson era you could say 10th studio album featuring the gravelled-vocal chord Geordie.
Maintaining their stiff upper lip, AC/DC are rocking all the way ‘cos that’s the way to rock’n’roll isn’t it? If you’ve been clearing out the cellar for the last few months you may not be aware that both the title track and ‘Play Ball’ have been circling airwaves and personal music players with ominous and short precision. The duration of both tracks is the sign of what is to follow from the remainder of ‘Rock Or Bust’ as the tracks whizz by in quick succession. Like a shot of love they smash’n’grab ‘cos rock and roll ain’t noise pollution.
11 tracks which get in, do their business and then get out is quite an attractive proposition after some of their recent-ish labours of love. The album proudly displays each and every song was written by both Angus and Malcolm Young with the addition of a heartfelt message “And most important of all, thanks to Mal, who made it all possible”.
Personally I enjoyed this album from the first listen and found it more enjoyable and satisfying than ‘Black Ice’. Where the 2008 studio album tried ambitiously to explore the blues much further than any of their previous releases, ‘Rock Or Bust’ is a shameless boogie album which trims the fat and versatility. The guitar work is excellent as always and continues to deliver what is expected. With production duties once again at the helm of Brendan O’Brien and with Mike Fraser behind the engineering, your ears are treated to some highlights like ‘Rock The Blues Away’ complete with sing-a-long chorus, ‘Dogs Of War’ which fades in and then hovers eerily before the riff grabs you by the scruff of the neck and grows into a quintessential example of an AC/DC chorus; some cheeky “Na na na’s” accompany ‘Miss Adventure’ whilst ‘Some Rock & Roll Thunder’ struts like a mischievous cockerel around a farmyard looking for some easy pickings.
The general unanimous verdict from far and wide suggests AC/DC haven’t made a classic rip-roaring album in many, many years and for me personally their last GREAT album was in 1990 when they unveiled ‘The Razors Edge’. It may be true to state that AC/DC are treading in waters which are beyond mere comparisons to their back catalogue, and are walking to an inevitable finish line instead of sprinting towards it with ‘Rock Or Bust’. Whatever side of the fence you wish to stand; this album should put a grin on your face and slap you around with a naughty wink of the eye if nothing else. It would appear the bearers of such musical classics as ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, ‘For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)’, ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock’n’Roll)’ and ‘Back In Black’ can still ‘Rock The House’ and that is going to please a great many fans. If you can afford it, treat yourself this Festive season with a mistress for Christmas, or perhaps it might be more politically correct to simply buy ‘Rock Or Bust’.
