 Mooncry - A Mirror`s Diary

Heute metaled uns mal wieder etwas aus deutschen Landen um die Ohren. Aus dem Hause der Empire Studios möchten wir euch heute das Album "A Mirror`s Diary" von Mooncry vorstellen. Bodenseemetal! Bands, die mit Rolf Munkes zusammen arbeiten sind ein Erfolgsgarant.

Die Aufnahmen des Albums fanden zwischen April und Juni 2013 statt. Mixed and mastered by Rolf Munkes. Der dritte Longplayer von Mooncry umfasst 10 powervolle Metalsongs - den neunten übrigens benannte man direkt nach dem Albumtitel nämlich "Mooncry".

Das neueste Machwerk der Truppe weist eine Spielzeit von knapp einer Stunde auf. Was uns hier erwartet? Melodische Parts, vereint mit teils rauhem und teils cleanem Gesang, ebenso bekommt man hier und da ein paar Chöre zu hören.  Mit "Scylla" wendet man sich der orientalischen Gangart zu - jedoch ist die am Anfang angehauchte orientalische Ader im Verlauf des Songs nicht mehr so ausgeprägt vorhanden - dies wäre noch ausbaufähig gewesen.

Die CD weist einen echten Ohrwurmcharatker auf und stellt mit ihrer Präsenz so manch andere Band total in den Schatten. Alle Achtung.Weiter so!

Am 05. Dezember 2014 wird das neue Album "Warriors" von WRETCH auf CD veröffentlicht. Der Vorverkauf beginnt am 21. November 2014.

Die US Power Metal-Band WRETCH aus Cleveland/Ohio hat ihre eindeutigen Wurzeln in den mittleren 80ern. Hauptsächlich sind wir beeinflusst von Bands wie Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio und Helloween. Unsere Musik beinhaltet äußerst melodische Elemente, cleane Vocals und starke Twin-Guitar-Leads. Textlich wird sich in unseren Songs – ähnlich wie bei Dio und Black Sabbath – mit dem Kampf zwischen Gut und Böse, Fantasy und Magie befasst.

Die Antriebsfeder von WRETCH basiert auf der Liebe, Heavy Metal zu schreiben, aufzunehmen und selbstverständlich auch live zu präsentieren. Das Gefühl, vor einem Metal-Publikum zu performen, ist ein Nervenkitzel, der vielen anderen Musikgenres abhanden geht. Diese gemeinsame Passion, Energie und der Enthusiasmus zwischen Bands und Fans ist der Hauptgrund, der unsere Band am Leben erhält.

"Warriors“ ist unser Debüt bei Pure Steel Records. Wir sind sehr stolz auf das Endergebnis, welches dieses Album zu bieten hat. Trotz mehrerer Rückschläge und Schwierigkeiten während der Produktion, haben wir uns als Band ernsthaft zusammengerauft. Wir sind der Meinung, das Songwriting und die Performance auf diesem Album zeigt dies bestens!

Review: GRAND DESIGN - Thrill Of The Night

Hailing from Sweden - Grand Design presenting their 3rd longplayer named Thrill Of The Night. Pros at work. This is another outstanding album and Grand Design proving it once again that they have got all what it takes to be a huge greatness in this rock n roll business. Smashing it up with U Got Me Good and followed by Rawk N Roll Heart Attack GD rocking it up to the fullest.

Produced by leadsinger Pelle Saether the new CD includes 10 tunes  - locked n loaded and good to go... You totally feel set back to the 80`s once again. Outstanding rock n roll tunes with Pelle`s voice sounding younger than ever.

Not to disprize but once again I have to say that GD are sounding more like Def Leppard than Def Leppard themselves. Rocking tunes and ballads this is a very good mixture and GD will definitely ride on the wave of success.

Review: Active Heed - Higher Dimensions

The new and 2nd CD from Active Heed includes 12 songs and has got a total playing time of nearly one hour. It is really awesome to see AH released a new album so fast. AH changed their style a bit and so it gives the listener a fresh note.

The Numbers Of God - shortly after the beginning this song rhythm comes along as a DIO song... just saying. 

Personally I say.... the rhythms are in reverse as the tunes are really proggy. Mr. Pagnini composed this CD and his friends transacted it one by one. This project is a super team of outstanding and talented musicians.

If you are a fan of the 70-s prog rock you definitely have to buy this killer album.
