Birth of Whipping Princess
Tired of a life as a whipping boy Karl Hinterleither, lover of rock, felt that the musical career he aspired was far away. But luck turned in the right direction when his path crossed with Jenny Jonasson, a singer with roots in the blues. Together the wanted to create a new sound. With real rawness and deep heavy bottom in the music, but still melodic. This was the beginning of Whipping Princess and the end of 2010 the band was accomplished with Linus Henriksson on drums and Simon Södererg on guitar.

JENNY JONASSON-Vocals
Since I was a child there has always been music around me. I remember sitting next to my grandfather and he would always sing for me and my sister. My father played a lot of rock n roll music, introducing me to Roy Orbinson, Little Richard, Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley and so on. He is also a big "Shadows" and "Spotnics" fan. So I ve been brain washed with their music all my life. When I was about eight I really loved Slade, the songs My oh my and Run runaway. I used to sing them over and over again. I`ve always loved to sing hardrock, there s so much tention in the music.
I have been expressing my creativity in different kind of ways for as long as I can remember. Writing lyrics or poems, drawing, photography, dancing. The feeling of creating something from scratch with my bare hands gives me satisfaction. I get the same feeling when I sing. I met with Karl and it clicked. We were on the same page, wanting to move forward and create something great. And it became Whipping Princess.
KARL HINTERLEITHNER-Bass
I started as a seven year old kid listening to Judas Priest, Whitesnake and the Clash.
A little while later Motley Crue and Hanoi Rocks hit my ears. And WOW! There is melodic heavy punk, glam, metal and bluesy rock-dirty as hell.
After being listening to this music I wanted to make the same heavy n cool sound. Around eight I started to write lyrics and make some noise. Well, I can tell that it wasnt that good at the time, but I had a goal. I tried as many instruments as I could lay my hands on, listening to more music of all kind.
Around twelve I started to play with other kids at some local youth centre. Mostly I played bass and guitar writing my own music and lyrics. At fifteen I started to sing more in some sort of punk/glam band. I quit school, got a daytime job, trying to find the right people to do music with.
Time went by without finding the right ones to make it happen. I was searching for width. I had become someone that wasn t only for one music style. And I never wanted to do covers and still don´t.I was part of many small projects, often as a singer, that at first seemed to be the right thing.
Periodically I got so tired of trying to reach out with the music, that I put my soul on hold. And that made me implode, so I couldn t stop writing music. It has been a long and winding journey until the day I met Jenny and we discussed about doing something about our mix. And again WOW! Someone that is willing to work as hard as me. Together we found melodic heavy punk, glam, metal and bluesy rock-dirty as hell. And so Whipping Princess was born.
SIMON SÖDERBERG-Guitar
As a child I listened to my mothers music which was a lot of rock n roll, real old school rock n roll. When I got a little older I fell over some Metallica records, and "hell yeah" I found where I belong.
At ten I fell in love with the sound from a guitar. I began the municipal music school and learned how to handle this six string instrument.
During the school years I went through a few so called bands and I loved every single note of it. That made me have a goal in the future, which way I wanted to head. After my school was done I entered my first real band named "Ojud" playing covers, mostly punk and metal songs. After a couple of years the band hit the grave after losing members.
After a while I found a new project we decided to call "Hardrock Bastards", also punk and metal covers, so there is where my heart is. And this ended too by some reasons. During some years I went through many tryouts trying to find the right thing for me.
I moved from north to south of Sweden for my daytime job. At that time I got a lot of free time and longing to make some noise. I found a musician add on a website, a band in Malmoe looking for an evil grinded
guitar player. I answered and they answered back, and I stepped into the world of Whipping Princess.
BEHZAD BEZZE MAHAJERZADEH HEIDARI -Drums
Hey there Im Behzad, I live in Sweden but I am from Iran. I started out to play the drums when I was seven years old but already before that I always had music around me even when my mom was pregnant with me. I was raised in a small town called Alingsas near Gothenburg. During my schooltime music was my kind of teraphy. All sorts of it. Rock, pop, RnB, trance, blues, jazz, persian, etc.
In swedish 2nd grade in school I started playing the drums at a classmates house. From there I just continued playing. I was a very messy kid back in the days so my mom went to the socials and got me a so called contact-person. A contact-person is a guy who meets up with your kids once in a week and doing stuffs and learning the kid etiquette and raising it. However, Jonathan as his name was, he happened to also be playing the drums and every week I went home with him we sat and played the drums. We did so for several years until I started my own band back in the year 2000. We called us selves "Red Stars". The same year my mom Zohre, bought me my first drumset. God bless her. My dad Behroz, bought me a drumbook with notes and a education cd. God bless him too!
Anyway I played with the band "Red Stars" for nearly 3 years and we had some small gigs. In swedish college I wanted to go to theatre class instead of music cause I like the acting thing. But my music friends was in music so I did a few gigs with them and their class. That year 2003 I sold my drums that my mom bought me and with that money I bought my drums that I have now. A Tama Rockstar kit with 6 tomtoms. Year 2004 I started two other bands in Gothenburg. I played with them 2 years each and played at many gigs and did some recordings.
My girlfriens left me in the early 2011, my job fired me and I left the bands cause I was totally cracked and brokenhearted. But I came back on my foots quick. I moved back to Alingsas and lived there with some other guys in two different big apartments for about 1,5 years totally. I did not play in a band cause I did not believe at all that I would become a drummer in Sweden. Then my friend Max offered me an apartment in Perstorp, almost 300 kilometers away from Alingsas. I thought it might be a whole new fresch start in my life.
I said yes and moved here and I met theese guys Simon, Jenny and Karl in the city Malmo 80 kilometers from Perstorp. I met them at first in a page called bandfinder.se before I moved here. When I auditioned at their place I felt immediately that "this is it, this is what I have been looking and benn searching for my whole drumming life!!!!!" During the audition it "clicked" immediately!!! So, here I am... new member of Whipping Princess, still single, my life has been trough a transition, and my life could not be other than going up for the better.
