HARD ROCK/HEAVY METAL BOOK TO BE RELEASED JUNE 29, 2012
June 26, 2012 - Las Vegas, NV - Tales from the Stage, Volume 1 is nonfiction book consisting of in-depth interviews with hard rock and heavy metal music professionals that helped shape the hard rock and heavy metal movement. The books website www.talesfromthestage.com officially opened last Frriday, June 22. “We did a soft release for the friends and followers of our participants on Friday, June 22.” says Michael Toney, the book’s author. “The website crashed for five minutes due to the volume, but we are better prepared for this Friday. The book is basically a 238 page journey that takes you through the hard rock and heavy metal movement, accompanied by 15 of the best tour guides in the business.” says Toney.
Tales from the Stage, Volume 1 will include 60-70 question interviews with 15 hard rock insiders; Bruce Kulick (Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad), Jay Reynolds (Malice, Metal Church), Herman Rarebell (Scorpions), Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Dio Disciples), Eddie Trunk (Radio/TV personality), Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint, DC4), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, King Kobra), Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), Oz Fox (Stryper), Steve “Lips” Kudlow (Anvil), Betsy Bitch (Bitch), Ron Keel (Keel, Steeler), Brian Slagel (CEO, Metal Blade Records), and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Foreigner).
The official release date of June 29, 2012 was announced recently, but the pre-orders have been strong since the first of the month. “The book content is incredibly exciting to all fans of the music.” says Toney. “What makes the books content different is that I don’t have a journalism background. I ask questions from a fan/musicians perspective. Finances, homes, and cars were not off limits.”
Tales from the Stage, Volume 1 has partnered with the non-profit organization, Ride for Dime (RFD). A portion of all book sales will be donated to RFD which is committed to furthering music education for America’s youth. Michael Toney also co-authored the book Tales from the Cage, which was of a similar format, focusing on the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
