BONFIRE – Cry 4 Help

Being animal lovers eversince the longlasting German hard rock band BONFIRE really liked the idea of making a new version of their song „Cry 4 Help“. Originally released on the “Double X”-album this has always been a fan favourite. Maybe also because of the strong statetement in the lyrics:

  "Who sheds a tear for the crocodile
That you carry as a bag?
Does your mink coat still keep you warm
When you think about its fate?
It ain't just another protest song
About laboratory crimes
It's also a cry for help
For the cowards of our time."

The new, updated version is now coming out on may 4^th 2012 as a special EP with different versions completed by two special bonus tracks and the video for the new version of one of BONFIRE’s biggest ballads “You Make Me Feel.”

Says singer Claus Lessmann: “It feels really good that the song has a second life now and that we can now release it in cooperation with the animal protection organisation PETA.”

At the end of march 2012 the band went over to the Ukraine to play a festival and a headlining show and also to get an impression of the recent unbelievable mistreatment of street dogs in the country and also to talk to the authorities and the people. Preceeding the Soccer European Championships in the Ukraine and Poland later in the year the Ukrainian government has allowed to “clean” the streets by killing hundreds and thousands of those innocent animals.

BONFIRE says “stop the senseless killing now” and would be happy about your support.

Als Tierliebhaber erschien der deutschen Hard Rock Band, BONFIRE, die im letzten Jahr ihren fünfundzwanzigsten Geburtstag feierte, die Idee mehr als logisch, ihren Song „Cry For Help“ neu aufzunehmen. Ursprünglich auf dem „Double X“-Album veröffentlicht, war der Song immer ein absoluter Fanfavorit. Und auch die neue Version mit dem neuen Titel “Cry 4 Help” hat ein starkes Statement im Text:

„Cry 4 Help“ erscheint als spezielle EP am 4. Mai 2012 mit dem Titelsong in drei verschiedenen Versionen, zwei Bonus Tracks und dem Videoclip zu der neuen Version der legendären Ballade “You Make Me Feel”.

Sänger Claus Lessmann: “Es ist großartig, dass einer unserer absoluten Lieblingssongs wieder zum Leben erweckt wird. Und dass wir ihn mit Unterstützung von PETA neu veröffentlichen können.“

Ende März reiste die Band in die Ukraine, unter anderem, um dort in Kherson vor 20.000 begeisterten Fans aufzutreten und sich von dem unglaublichen Tiermißbrauch im Land zu überzeugen. Im Vorfeld der Fußballeuropameisterschaft in der Ukraine und Polen „belohnt“ die Ukrainische Regierung diejenigen, die herrenlose Straßenhunde töten. Die Band suchte den Dialog mit den zuständigen Behörden und der Bevölkerung.

Die Band spricht sich gegen das sinnlose Töten aus und freut sich über jeglichen Support!
